The Lewis McCallum Band

Lewis McCallum is one of Auckland’s most versatile and exciting saxophonists. He fuses his deep knowledge of jazz with modern forms of dance and beats culture to form a truly unique sound. 

Lewis has enjoyed success both in New Zealand and overseas. In 1995 he won New Zealand’s Best Young Saxophonist and has since gone on to play with the likes of the late Ray Charles and Manhattan Transfer as well as New Zealand’s Opensouls, Hollie Smith, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and highly acclaimed group Relaxomatic Project.

Lewis is now building his profile as a music producer with the release of his outstanding debut album ‘Wake’. The album features Lewis’ own compositions which bring together modern beats, grooves and electronics with the authentic improvising of jazz.
