Emerging New Zealand jazz pianist and composer Steve Barry is regarded as a rising star on the Australasian jazz scene, earning rapturous plaudits since his move to Sydney in 2009.

Winner of the 2013 Bell Award for Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year and runner-up in the 2013 National Jazz Awards, Steve Barry has established a reputation as one of Australia’s finest pianists.

Steve Barry released his self-titled debut album in 2012 to wide critical acclaim, receiving a 4 star review in The Australian.

Steve has worked with numerous prominent international artists such as John Hollenbeck (USA), Theo Bleckmann (USA), George Coleman Jr. (USA), The Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra, Dale Barlow, Simon Barker and James Muller (AUS). He has performed across Australia and New Zealand as well as in the United States, Japan, France, Italy, Samoa and New Caledonia.

The Steve Barry Quartet will bring a dynamic live set exploring a wide range of musical territory and previewing new original compositions from a new record set for release in the coming months.
