The festival has evolved from it's humble beginnings in 1978 into an iconic 10-day international musicfocused celebration and is now widely recognised as one of its kind in Australasia.

This year we celebrate Queenstown's 32nd annual Jazz Festival, a milestone and solid indication of the festival's endurance and broad appeal. The secret of our success is our ability to stay true to our original ideas, the growing calibre of the artists, our commitment to exploring the full range of jazz styles and strong community allegiance.

Our festival appeals to all lovers of music.

An opportunity exists to significantly raise our profile. Combined with organic growth, we have the foundations for a strong and sustainable future.

For many, this festival is the cornerstone of the spring shoulder season, vital to the artistic and
cultural calander, it also benefits our entire business community.

Our vision includes broadening artistic content to include related musical and art chapters, growing it's programme diversity and increasing regional, national and international visitors.

Supported by major sponsor ASB, our festival is perfectly positioned to immerge as one of New Zealand's prominent festivals. The concept is sound, the structure sustainable, our geographical and economic environment is right - it is time to drive our event to the next level.
