Moving Picture Show
The Moving Picture Show provides an authentic 1920’s experience, combining classic silent films with live orchestral accompaniment and sound effects, playing music from the silent picture era. Featured across two nights as the corner stone to this year’s Festival programme, the show includes films from legends of the era such as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Llyod, together with original news reel and ads, novelty acts and sing-alongs. Jan Thorpe, the woman behind the Moving Picture Show, together with her daughter will be coming to Queenstown to MC the show and lead a home grown jazz orchestra featuring players from Queenstown to Alexandra, and as far afield as Invercargill and Auckland. This free to the public, open air concert/film experience will create a wonderful spectacle and fantastic addition to this year’s Queenstown JazzFest. View website: www.themovingpictureshow.com.au
