"JUMPSTART" The AJ Hackett Bungy Youth CompetitionSaturday 24th & Sunday 25th OctoberAge Group 12-17
The ASB Queenstown JazzFest invites contestants to enter the 2009 Youth Jazz Awards brought to you by AJ Hackett Bungy and proudly supported by Creative Queenstown and The Edge Radio.
This Competition is open Nationwide to competitors age 12 to 17 who can demonstrate their understanding of, and profiency in the Jazz idiom.
The 2009 Competition has Three Categories:
Solo
Instrumental
Band
Please note: the band category is open to all High School Students regardless of age.
Contestants have until 4pm Friday 16th October to register. Please email your completed registration form to: [email protected] or post to: Jumpstart Competition, P O Box 731, Queenstown. Entries MUST be received by 4:00pm Friday 16th October to be eligible for the competition.
All contestants will be invited to compete in the Preliminary Rounds to be held in Queenstown on Saturday 24th October 2009.
Finals will be held on Sunday 25th October 2009
Prizes in each category:
Solo: First $600
Second $200
Band: First: $1500
All contestants are also eligible to receive one free bungy jump to be redeemed on Monday 26th October.
All Contestants will also receive free entry to the Finals of the Emerging Talent Jazz Competition, being held at the Millennium Hotel, Sunday night, 25th October.
This competition is part of the 2009 ASB Queenstown JazzFest. When not competing you will be able to hear some great music, or you may choose to participate in some of the festival workshops, forums or master classes.
