Hailing from Brazil, Tambolele are an act not to be missed. The quartet formed 11 years ago and has stunned audiences worldwide with their variety of instruments, combining the poetic and magic voice of Sérgio Pererê, the theatrical excitement of Geovane Sassá and the drumming spectacular of Santonne Lobato. Their music is inspired by Afro Brazilian culture and features strong vibrant rhythms, both ancient and contemporary. Tambolele will be joined by fellow Brazilian Bruno Buarque who began playing percussion at 7 years old. Wonderful driving rhythms ooze from this high energy Brazilian group. Tambolele have toured Brazil, Italy, Spain, Columbia, and the US, and now bring their stunning performance to Queenstown. They were formed eleven years ago, in the heart of Brazil, and their music and strong vibrant rhythms are inspired by the black heritage of Brazilian cultural roots.They have released three albums and played with some major names of Brazilian Music.Tambolele plays a huge variety of instruments but they may also transform ordinary items like plates, coffee mugs, or a newspaper, into musical instruments.
