Craig Naughton Quartet

Craig Naughton is a well know and highly respected Sydney based Australian drummer/composer who has for many years powered some of the country’s most notable Jazz instrumentalists, and has become well celebrated as a fine Australian jazz composer and contributor to Australian Jazz . His drumming style is dynamic and high energy, instantly recognizable among his peers.

After attending the Sydney conservatorium, Craig first became popular as sideman to a host of leading artists and probably most famously with the James Muller trio playing on the well-known aria award winning album (All Out) and many other successful jazz records, he has also accompanied the likes of Dale Barlow, Guy Strazzullo, Steve Hunter, Sean Wayland, Steve McKenna, Mark Isaacs, Carl Orr and iconic bands Sonic Fiction and the Subterraneans plus many, many more on the contemporary Australian Jazz circuit.

In addition Craig has for the last 10 years been a leader of his own groups and is a prolific writer. Last year in 2010 he released an album of Jazz compositions featuring some of Australia’s finest musicians. The album, The Nautical Mile has received much attention and has become a top seller.
