Vocalist


Vocalist Caroline Manins (aka Carolina Moon), is one of NZ’s leading jazz and world music singers. She began her jazzlife on the London/UK jazz scene, studying at London's Guildhall School of Music. She then lived and performed in Sydney for 10 years where she met husband Roger, and subsequently moved to Auckland. 

Caro currently performs in various musical projects thoughout NZ, Australia, the Greater Pacific and the UK including French Gypsy Jazz band La Luna and the Gadjo Boys, and her beautiful medieval Spanish Judeo project which she has toured throughout NZ, Australia and New Caledonia. She has released 3 CD’s: Mother Tongue, East of the Sun, and The Shaman’s Kiss (nominated for a Bell, Australian Jazz Awards 2003)
 
Caroline will be performing at the festival with husband Roger in their Quintet, in a trio format, and with ‘Tsiganes’ under the guise of Carolina Moon with long time collaborator Nigel Gavin, plus Richard Adams and Neil Billington.
